Opioid addiction represents a nationwide epidemic responsible for tens of thousands
of deaths each year. And while no group–be it men or women, young or old–are spared, few groups have felt the effects of the rising tide of the epidemic like veterans. A 2011 Veterans Affairs study found that veterans were twice as likely to die from an opioid overdose compared to the rest of the population.
As Medical Cannabis gains traction to treat physical and emotional pain as an alternative to addictive pharmaceuticals, street drugs and suicide, the 16:20 Show Series chronicles the lives of veterans who have chosen to uses Medical Cannabis to help them with their struggles dealing with PAIN, PTSD, TBI, and other occupational stress injuries. 16:20 promotes awareness, breaks down stigmas and provides education that can improve the lives of those suffering from similar issues.
