Dr. Philip T. Reynolds

Dr. Philip T. Reynolds comes from a family that has served the United States for generations, on his father’s side back to the American Revolution. His grandfather served in the U.S. Army in World War II and his father in the U.S. Air Force; one of his sons served in the U.S. Navy, and another son is serving in the U.S. Army today.

A dentist, he planned to join the Air Force as a dental officer but was medically disqualified at 24. He went on to give about four decades of humanitarian dental care in Mexico, Central America, Haiti and the Rio Grande Valley, and later, as a contractor, provided dental care for service members at Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar, Rhine Ordnance Barracks in Germany and the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center in Iraq.

He wrote “We Are America – Don’t Test Your Luck” as the nation approached its 250th anniversary, to honor the men and women of all six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. To him, “Don’t Test Your Luck” means peace through strength, and the song is not about one political party: he wants red and blue to hear the same song.
