“A great ‘C.A.V. Family’ visit while touring our east coast Acadian region visiting winter’s locked in Veterans!!
It’s been my honour to spend time all year long irregardless of the weather with our Worlds heroes for the past 17 years thanks to ‘special forces’ groups of Canadian Heroes known as the ‘CAV’, – local heroes gathered in ‘Units’ remembering great sacrifice while using motorcycles across Canada to continue service to others. A special service group founded in 2003 that its been my honour to ride alongside and continue my ongoing service , thanks to the membership of the ‘Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Units’.
In this photo are a PROUD group of CAV members of Dunkirk Unit of Moncton New Brunswick who introduced me Saturday at their Unit breakfast to Steve and his newly acquired service dog, a life saving pairing made possible thanks to these incredible folks great hearts and hands in not only identifying need around them, but fundraising nonstop to support others!!
In dozens of cities across Canada since 2003 groupings of incredible community leaders, both Veterans and those great folks who support them, following the CAV Organizations Mission of ‘Ride and Have Fun While Helping Others’ using Strength and Honour to conquer challenges with each Unit naming itself after Canadian Battle Honours earned by generations of local sacrifice. Dunkirk Unit recalls not only the epic withdrawal May 26 to June 4 1940 but crucially the 1944 post D Day invasion and September of 1944 actions by Canadian Forces surrounding and allowing the recapture of the fortified region of Dunkirk leading the Allies to final victory.
This most recent moment in time is just one of many life changing acts of kindness I’ve witnessed first hand against darkness, made possible throughout this Country by the members of the CAV nationwide. These heroes of 2nd C.A.V. Formation, eastern Canada of Dunkirk Unit of our the east coast Acadian region, have enriched and saved lives for well over a decade thanks to the powerful hearts and hands of these incredible Community leaders!
Springs rolling closer!! Winters grip is loosening …
